 Iron Man Fiberglass Statues

An Iron Man fiberglass statue is a statue made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) of the Marvel superhero Iron Man. The statues are made in size ranging from different sizes and probably one of the most popular life-size. Iron Man fiberglass statues will provide a very realistic and exact likeness to the armor of Tony Stark, they often look amazing in detailed images.

Fiberglass has a relatively high structural integrity, and easy to manipulate and transport. Fiberglass does not crack, distort or degrade in UV light so they will perform exceptionally outside and can also be displayed outside. Because of these attributes fiberglass materials have become the latest trend in the production of many Marvel characters.

Iron Man fiberglass statues are great visual advertisement and display in multiple commercial environments. In retail, Iron Man fiberglass statues can be offered as high end displays and attract customers. Theme parks could also use Iron Man fiberglass statues to provide great photo opportunities.

Realistic Detailing and Paint Finish

Every Iron Man fiberglass statue is expertly hand painted to give a realistic metallic look. High quality, durable automotive grade paints are used for each color as well as a clear protective coat for the best overall finish and increased durability.

In an effort to make the display options look as realistic as possible, many statues come standard with LED lights in the eyes, chest reactor and palm repulsors. The combination of high quality paint, realistic lighting can create a piece that is museum quality that displays Tony Starks armor in a way that stands out.

More custom paint options are available to collectors or businesses wanting a little extra unique. Custom options include battle damaged look, chrome plated look, and / or a solid matte stealth look to give a little more personalization to match a specific design or company branding.

Characteristics of Iron Man Fiberglass Statues

These statues are created to be precise representations of Iron Man’s armor. Every curve and joint and intricacies of the armor are all duplicated, from the segmented plates on the arms and legs to the “chest plate” which is full of engraved details.

The color schemes are always closely related to the material they are based on. The classic red and gold scheme provides a lot of Iron Man statues, but as we know Iron Man suits have variant colors as well, this is especially true with many suits in the later designs being more of a silver – toned armor.

The poses of Iron Man statues are also varied. Iron Man can be in a lot of different poses, from action poses, like mid flight, with repulsor rays firing, or it can be more static, confident heroic poses. Some facial expressions could be determination in the heat of a battle or confidence in a creation of heroism.

Personalized Life-Size Iron Man Harboring Statues

The design confirmation process starts from the very beginning with they client’s requests and specifications, among the client’s often provide references, the design team then takes those references and creates technical drawings, outlining the crucial dimensions and detail requirements necessary for statue production. A 3D digital model is created and built based on all of the information, such that the client can view every angle in advance of production, from the curvature of the chest plate to the texturing of the palm repulsers.

We prepare fiberglass resin, mixed with glass fibers, and poured into the molds. The mixture will harden (cure) within a few hours into individual pieces of the statue. After demolding, all parts of the statue will require sanding to smooth the edges and ensure imperfections are removed. For any custom features such as light-up elements, the necessary cavities will be cut in the torso or helmet during casting, and LED strips or small bulbs can later be installed, connected through batteries or an external power source.

Lastly we get to the painting and finishing step of the project, where the statue is fully brought to life. To make sure we are staying accurate with the project, we refer back to the client’s approved design. Some clients prefer a “factory fresh” style with shiny paint, while other clients like a “worn” style with scrapes, scuff marks, or even constructed rust around the joints. Logos are applied by either stencils or decals, and then a clear coat is applied to finish off and protect the piece from UV rays or debris eating or chipping it.
