Arc-shaped bar counter
Unlike the stiffness of a regular straight bar counter, the bar counter here is a smooth large arc that slowly extends from the entrance into the depth of the space. This curve is not a random design: it precisely follows the movement trajectory of customers after they enter the store. Whether they walk from the entrance to the display cabinet or to their seats after checking out, they will not be hindered by sharp corners.
The main color of the bar counter is a light lotus green, with a saturation so low that it almost feels like “breathing”, as refreshing as freshly melted mint candies. The edge is wrapped with a circle of slender golden metal strips, meandering along the curve. This not only enhances the refinement of the outline but also balances the softness and cuteness of the mint green, making the bar counter both gentle like a dessert shop and maintaining a neat texture.
Bar counter materials
The countertop in the operation area of the bakery is made of shallow emerald artificial stone, with a matte texture that is oil-resistant and scratch-resistant, which is perfectly suitable for the high-frequency operations in dessert making. The lower part of the cabinet is made of dark grey metal corrugated plates. The fine vertical patterns have a cold and hard texture, which contrasts with the soft mint green but does not look out of place.
The middle checkout area is specially designed with a curved countertop with a light oak grain. The warm tone of the original wood just neutralizes the coldness of the metal. When customers check out, their fingertips touch the softness of the wood, and even the payment process becomes a bit loose.
Display cabinet
The core display cabinet of the bread bar is recessed, like a “glass box” tailor-made for desserts. The frame is extremely fine golden metal, paired with ultra-white glass – ordinary glass would turn green, but ultra-white glass can restore the powder of macarons and the white of cream just right, and even the fruit particles on the cake can be seen clearly.
The interior of the display cabinet is designed in layers: the upper layer is high and holds 6-inch small cakes. Each layer is embedded with warm white LED lights. The light wraps around the cakes from the top, and the luster of the cream is like a soft glow. The middle layer is low, where macarons and cookies are placed. The transparent acrylic partition does not block light and can firmly hold the desserts. The lower layer is a drawer compartment where packaged gift boxes are placed. When closed, it becomes a flat cabinet without any clutter.
On the right side of the display cabinet, there is also a small open shelf, which is arc-shaped – perfectly fitting the outline of the bar counter. It is filled with canned biscuits and custom bags, serving both as a display and a supplementary shelf for “easy access”.
Shop tables and chairs
1. Round dining tables: All the dining tables in the store are round, with a diameter of 80 centimeters, which is just enough to accommodate 2 to 3 people. The desktop is made of artificial stone with a terrazzo texture. The grey base is mixed with fine white and light grey particles, giving a slightly rough feeling when touched. The table legs are three thin black metal rods that radiate out to support the tabletop. This design of “light table legs + heavy tabletop” makes the space not feel crowded. Even when it is full of people, there will be no sense of being suffocated.
2. Seating: The main type of seating is a mint green velvet chair – the same color as the bar counter. The velvet surface has a fine luster, feels soft when sitting on it, and the backrest is quilted in a diamond shape, just fitting the waist. The chair legs are made of golden metal, as thin as jewelry. When compared with the black legs on the table, a sense of refinement emerges.
Soft decoration
A golden round mirror is embedded in the moss wall, surrounded by small lamps, which not only makes the space appear larger but also prevents the wall from being monotonous. The curtains are made of grey velvet, with a good drape that can serve as a background cloth, filtering out strong light and preventing desserts from looking greasy. The ceiling is hung with white paper art balls, complemented by some pink fabric flowers. It’s just sweet and not as noisy as a children’s room. Even the small sign beside the display cabinet is made of wood, with the name of the dessert written in handwriting and a small cake drawn beside it – even if you don’t buy it, just looking at it makes you feel happy.
Space decoration
The most eye-catching feature is the arc-shaped moss wall, paved with preserved moss. Its deep green color is evenly distributed like an oil painting and is embedded in the grooves of the wall. The edges are outlined with golden metal strips – echoing the edge of the bar counter. Ivy hangs on the flower board, and the vines hang down from the metal frame. The bar counter and the small potted plants in the corner are placed in woven baskets. The patterns of the rattan weaving carry the simplicity of the countryside, and when they collide with the delicacy of velvet and metal, they appear more real – after all, even the most high-end dessert shop needs a bit of a touch of life.
