In the spatial design of the “SAN YOGHURT” yogurt store, the bar counter and the self-service yogurt ice cream machine counter are the core functional areas. They not only meet the operational efficiency requirements of the store but also constitute the visual soul of the space. As the visual center and operational hub of the store, the design of the bar counter is fully dedicated to “user experience + employee efficiency”, while continuing the store’s fresh main tone of “lake blue + white + light wood”.

The bar counter is located on the inner side of the entrance of the yogurt store (corresponding to the entrance depth area in the storefront picture), and it is the first visual point that customers see when they enter the store. For instance, the lake-blue background wall, the white countertop and the light wood-colored cabinet form a strong color contrast. This not only echoes the style of the blue and white stripes on the store’s walls and the wooden seats, but also quickly conveys the “light, sweet and clean” attributes of the yogurt store with its “bright and soft” texture.

Meanwhile, the vertical height and horizontal length of the bar counter are adapted to the spatial scale – the countertop, which is approximately 3 meters long, can accommodate 2 to 3 employees to operate simultaneously, avoiding process congestion during peak hours. The height is connected with the store’s seats and self-service counters to form a smooth flow, making the process of ordering and picking up food for users more fluid.

Circular theme posters: Three posters with “yogurt ice cream + fresh ingredients” as the core of the picture (such as strawberries, blueberries with cream top), visually presenting the product form, and at the same time, the bright colors can stimulate users’ appetite.

Small flavor identification boards: A row of identification boards at the bottom of the poster clearly mark the flavors corresponding to each machine (such as original, vanilla, strawberry, blueberry), allowing users to quickly identify and select, avoiding operational errors and enhancing the efficiency of the self-service experience.

Surface and countertop

The material of the bar counter is light wood-colored fireproof board, with a warm and soft tone, which neutralizes the coldness of lake blue and white, making the space more approachable. The front of the cabinet is not a monotonous flat surface but is adorned with a layer of white curved hollowed-out lace. The pattern is based on the “cream piping” model. The continuous arc-shaped outline not only enhances the theme atmosphere of the “dessert shop” but also adds a sense of layering to the cabinet through the “combination of solid and void” design, avoiding the dullness brought by the large area of wood color.

Bar counter top design

Above the counter of the yogurt shop, a composite design of “storage racks + lights + flower troughs” is also designed. The storage rack adopts a material combination of “white frame + shallow wooden shelves”, which echoes the bar counter cabinet and can store tableware and ingredient jars. The flower grooves embedded in the frame (paired with red flowering plants) use vivid natural elements to soften the cold and hard feeling of the hard material, adding a touch of relaxation to the functional bar counter. The LED flat panel lights on the top provide uniform and soft operation lighting, avoiding glare from affecting employees’ operations.

Regional division

• Operation and cleaning area

Located on the inside of the bar counter (close to the wall), it is equipped with stainless steel washbasins and sensor faucets, meeting the hygiene standards for food business operations. Employees can complete the cleaning of utensils and hand disinfection here. The area is adjacent to the storage area, making it more convenient to access cleaning tools.

• Display pick-up area

Located on the outside of the bar counter (facing users), there is reserved space for placing cups on the countertop (corresponding to the blue yogurt cup with a pattern in the picture), and users can directly pick up their food after placing an order. At the same time, this area can temporarily display samples of the limited flavors of the day to enhance interaction with users.

• Storage area

Integrated inside the cabinet, through the combination of “drawers + cabinet doors”, tableware, packing bags, raw materials and auxiliary materials are classified and stored, keeping the countertop clean – avoiding the disorderly stacking of items during operation and improving the work efficiency of employees.
