The wall-mounted high cabinets are the “main storage force” of the entire pharmacy, almost covering the four walls and extending from the floor to a position close to the ceiling, maximizing the utilization of vertical space. It is not a single solid cabinet but is split into multiple 1.2-meter-wide independent unit cabinets, giving the wall a more layered feel

Wall display cabinet

Each unit cabinet is a combination of “open on top and closed at the bottom” – the upper layer is 5-6 layers of open shelves, and the layer height is customized according to the packaging of the medicine: The height of the compartments for boxed medicines is 20cm, for high bottles of vitamins it is 25cm, and for small bottles of oral liquid it is 15cm. These compartments are perfectly suitable for medicines of different specifications and will not cause the situation where “the large compartments are empty but the small ones are not”. The lower layer features a double-opening closed cabinet door. Inside, there is a deep storage space for full boxes of inventory or light-proof chemicals. The cabinet door is equipped with a hidden grooved handle, which does not disrupt the overall neatness.

Each unit cabinet has a 30-cm-high white signboard reserved on the top, printed with the green word “BRAND”. When the signboards are lined up in a row, they form a unified visual focus on the top of the wall. The edges of all open shelves have been rounded and polished to prevent customers from getting injured when touching them.

Central island display cabinet

The central island cabinet features a double-sided open design, with dimensions of 1.5 meters in length, 0.8 meters in width, and 1.2 meters in height (exactly the comfortable height for customers to stand and take items). The main body of the cabinet is white, with a 5-cm-high light green soft surrounding edge on the top – which not only echoes the overall color tone but also buffers collisions.

The layered design is highly targeted: The top layer is the focal area for the line of sight, where eight large cans of health products are placed. The blue bottle caps stand out strikingly against the white cabinet. The middle layer is a small bottle of liquid medicine with the label facing outward for easy viewing. The lower layer is a light wood-colored closed drawer. Inside, some small compartments are used to store spare items for display, so the store staff don’t have to go to the back office to restock.

Cash register combination cabinet

On the customer side: The open shelves are divided into three layers – the upper layer displays small items such as band-aids and mint candies for “instant purchase”, the middle layer holds promotional small packages of medicines, and the lower layer is a closed small cabinet for inventory storage, which is convenient for customers to pick and choose when checking out.

Operation side: The countertop is made of matte stone that is waterproof and stain-resistant. Below it, there are two drawers (for receipts and the battery of the barcode scanner) and a cabinet door (for the main unit of the cash register and the cash box). A temporary countertop 0.5 meters wide is also left beside it to prevent the accumulation of medicines during checkout.

The overall layout of this pharmacy design follows the logic of “customer flow as the core, clear functional zoning, and efficient space utilization”, which not only takes into account the needs of medicine display and storage, but also ensures a smooth and uncramped shopping experience

• Front entrance area

Directly opposite the entrance of the pharmacy are two rows of vertically arranged central island display cabinets, forming an “entrance buffer zone”. The high cabinets on both sides of the entrance prioritize the placement of “high-frequency and essential items” such as cold and stomach medicines, making it convenient for customers to quickly find and take them without having to go deep into the store.

• Central Island Core Exhibition Area

Six central island cabinets are arranged in two rows longitudinally, forming the “main passage” inside the store. A 1.5-meter-wide main passage is left between the two rows of central island cabinets. The direction of the passage is consistent with the flow line from the entrance to the cash register, guiding customers to move naturally deeper into the store. The central island cabinet is divided by category: the front central island displays seasonal promotional items and new products, while the back central island showcases health products and tonics, ensuring that key products of different types are all covered.

• Wall storage and classification area

The tall cabinets on the four walls form a “full-area storage + classified display area”, dividing the areas according to the functions of the medicines. The high cabinet on the left wall: Displays “daily medicines” such as colds, fever reduction, and pain relief. The shelves are subdivided according to packaging specifications for easy and quick search. The high cabinet on the right wall: Displays “health products” such as vitamins and dietary supplements, with light strips highlighting the display. The high cabinet on the inner wall: A “Prescription Drug/Special Medicine Area” is reserved, and some of the shelves are designed as semi-enclosed to balance privacy and management.

• Cash register and storage area

The cash register combination cabinet is located in the inner part of the store and connects the “front desk checkout” and “back desk storage” at the same time. The cashier counter is the natural end point of the movement line. After customers finish visiting the store area, they can directly go to the cashier counter to settle the bill. Behind the cash register, there is a 1-meter-wide “back-end small storage area” (hidden behind the high cabinets on the wall). When restocking, the staff don’t have to take a detour, which improves efficiency. The open shelves on the customer side of the cashier counter display band-aids, throat lozenges and other “instant purchase” items, catering to the consumption habits of the checkout scene.
