phone shop fixtures overview

Start with a Fixture List, Not a Shopping List

Before opening day, sit down and list every fixture the store actually needs. A clean list avoids the common mistake of buying one extra counter nobody uses, or forgetting a cable rack staff need daily. Measure the walls first and count linear meters.

Group the list into four buckets: wall cabinets, counters, accessories racks, and service furniture. Then assign each bucket a budget and a delivery date. Rtdisplay helps phone shop owners build this list and supplies matching phone shop furniture and fittings as one package.

Wall Back Cabinets: Your Highest-Perimeter Selling Surface

The perimeter wall is your most valuable real estate. Floor-to-ceiling back cabinets with glass doors hold the most SKUs per square meter. Choose light wood or white laminate so small products stay visible against the panel.

Plan for adjustable shelves so you can raise or lower levels as phone sizes change. Add hidden LED strips inside each shelf, and a locking lower cabinet for stock. Standard mobile phone display cabinets come in one-meter bays; buy in bays to fit your wall length cleanly.

Glass Display Counters for Secure Hero Units

Hero phones should sit behind glass at waist height. A locking glass counter keeps demo units safe while letting customers see them clearly. Use a lockable glass top with a brushed metal or light wood plinth.

Keep the counter top free of clutter. A small price card, a charging cable, and one or two spare demo units is enough. If you sell tablets or smartwatches, add a second lower shelf inside the counter so larger devices still lock away overnight.

Island Demo Tables: The Hands-On Zone

An open island table in the middle of the floor invites touch. Without it, customers ask staff to hand over a phone, which slows service and limits browsers. A good island is around 90cm tall with a cable channel inside.

Place two to three islands in a medium shop, spaced so customers do not bump elbows. Wire each table to a central charging point. Pair the table with a low stool so older customers can sit while comparing two devices side by side.

Accessories Hooks and Pegboard Walls

Accessories sell best when they hang at eye level. A pegboard wall with hooks lets you rehang cases, cables, and earbuds in minutes. Black or white powder-coated boards look clean in most modern phone shops.

Use clear spacing between hooks: about 5cm per SKU. Overcrowded boards look cheap and slow down choice. Rtdisplay also makes phone accessories display stands and rotating racks that add front-facing facings without extra wall space.

The Checkout Counter and Impulse Shelf

The till counter is a small but important fixture. It should be long enough for the POS terminal, a card reader, and a small tray. Place it near the exit so customers pass the wall displays on the way out.

Add a low impulse shelf beside the counter for cheap add-ons: screen protectors, pop sockets, and small cables. Rtdisplay builds phone display counters with hidden cable channels and under-counter storage, so staff never see a mess.

Repair Bench and Service Trolley

If you offer screen repair or battery swaps, you need a proper bench. It should be at least 120cm wide, with a built-in magnifier lamp and an anti-static mat. Add a small lockable drawer for screws and tools.

Keep a trolley next to the bench for parts and replaced batteries. A labelled trolley cuts repair time and prevents small parts getting lost. Tuck the bench in a corner behind a low partition so waiting customers stay out of the work zone.

Lighting, Signage, and Finishing Touches

Lighting is part of the fixture budget, not an afterthought. Order cabinet LEDs, ceiling panels, and spotlight tracks at the same time as the cabinets. Mixing suppliers usually leaves mismatched color temperature.

Add a simple low-profile signage rail above the entrance and a small spec stand by each island. Keep finishes consistent: if the cabinets are light oak, choose the same oak on the counter. Consistent finishes make the whole build look deliberate.

Delivery, Assembly, and Pre-Opening Test

Book a delivery date at least two weeks before opening. Furniture always needs a day to unpack and a day to assemble. Leave one more day to fix scratched panels, adjust doors, and test locks.

On the last day before opening, walk the full route as a customer. Touch every demo unit, open every cabinet, and check every lock. A final walk-through catches crooked shelves or missing hooks that staff would otherwise live with for months. Rtdisplay supplies mobile shop display racks and cabinets flat-packed with clear labels to speed this final assembly.
