Pushing open the glass door of the GLOSS NAIL BAR, the soft pink that greets the face is mixed with a hint of the cold light of rose gold – not the sweet and cloying “girl pink”, but the textured gray-toned pink, like the rose-pink wrapped in gauze. And what supports this “soft luxury” feel is not only the floor-to-ceiling crystal long partitions and the oval gold-edge mirrors, but also hidden in every display cabinet that is both beautiful and practical. They are not cold display shelves in a shopping mall, but the “texture” that grows along with the space: pink borders, warm light seeps in, and care products and nail tools are neatly embedded in every line of sight of this nail salon.

Nail display cabinet

The core theme of this nail salon is “to make sweet elements’ high-end ‘” – for instance, pink is not used in large areas but in a matte texture mixed with texture paint. The arch is not a retro and heavy shape, but a light arc with rounded corners. The display cabinet was not an “extra” piece of furniture from the very beginning of its design, but rather “grew” along this theme: its metal frame is low-saturation rose gold, which perfectly echoes the luster of the hanging buckles of the crystal partition at the entrance. Its base color is the same grayish powder as the wall, and even the corners have been ground into soft arcs that echo the arches.

Standing at the entrance and looking towards the operation area, you can clearly feel the “integration” of the display cabinets: the wall cabinets, operation tables, and mirror display stands form a “soft line” without sharp corners, without abrupt material splicing, nor with fragmented color lines. The display cabinet is more like a layer of “display texture”, hiding the products in the atmosphere of the space – not piling up goods in front of you, but allowing you to naturally notice the bottles and jars on the shelves while experiencing the soft and luxurious atmosphere.

Embedded wall cabinet

It is not a simple shelf nailed to the wall, but “dug” into the pink-textured wall: the wall body was first made with a fine concave-convex texture, and then three layers of rose gold metal frames were embedded in the reserved grooves. The edges of the frame boards were not sealed, and a 2-centimeter gap was deliberately left – just to hide the LED light strips inside.

Warm light seeped out from the gap, not a direct blinding glow, but a soft halo enveloping the product: the middle rack was just at eye level with an adult’s line of sight, displaying the season’s main promoted nail polish glue set. The pearlescent light on the bottle body shone with a delicate sparkle in the warm light, and the base color could be clearly seen without getting close. On the upper shelf are round and plump canned care wax, with a small bunch of dried flowers placed beside it, adding a touch of soft vitality. The lower layer is a sliding drawer, where the nail polish remover and cotton pads from the stockpiled items are hidden. When pushed back, the wall is still a neat soft pink color, and there is no trace of “storage” at all.

Interestingly, at the right end of this row of wall cabinets, there is an “arc-shaped gap”, which just fits into a small round mirror the size of a palm – the edge of the mirror is also rose gold, and it fits perfectly with the frame. Passers-by subconsciously glance at themselves in their glasses, and their eyes will naturally shift to the products on the shelves beside them. Even the act of “attracting attention” is done very gently.

Operation area counter

Its countertop is made of white fine-grained rock slabs, with the edges wrapped in rose gold metal strips, and the color perfectly matches the frame of the wall cabinet. The countertop is not completely flat. A row of shallow grooves has been cut in the middle – inside the grooves are transparent acrylic storage boxes, divided into more than ten small compartments, containing different models of dead leather scissors and polishing strips. The box LIDS are crystal models with diamond-shaped textures, which feel cool and smooth to the touch, perfectly matching the crystal partition at the door.

The front of the counter is a “layered display area” : The upper layer is an open narrow shelf, with commonly used nail polish glue arranged by color series. Warm light shines from the light strip at the bottom of the counter, and the base color of the nail polish can be clearly seen. The lower layer is a drawer with hidden buttons. The drawer surface is made of the same texture powder as the wall, and only a small rose gold round button is used at the handle. When not in use, when closed, the front of the counter is a clean soft pink, and no messy tools will be exposed.

When sitting on the chair in front of the counter, you will notice the “ergonomics” of this row of display cabinets: the commonly used nail polish is just 30 centimeters to the right, and you can reach it without getting up. The height of the storage box is flush with the countertop, so it won’t hurt your arms. Even the light strips at the bottom of the counter are just right to illuminate the details of fingers, so there’s no need to turn on an extra desk lamp when choosing colors.

Mirror display stand

The mirror is an upright oval shape with a matte gold border and no extra carvings or decorations. The display stand is nailed to the right side of the picture frame. It is a narrow frame supported by two thin rose gold rods and only has one layer. On the stand, there is only a bottle of essential oil for care and a scented candle: the essential oil bottle is made of transparent glass with a golden cap, and the candle has a frosted powder can body, which fits perfectly with the color tone of the space.

This kind of display is not about “piling up goods”, but rather “embellishment” : when you sit in front of the mirror doing a manicure, you will catch a glimpse of the essential oils on the display stand out of the corner of your eye, smell a faint aroma of aromatherapy, and casually ask, “Is this essential oil used for hand care?” The “suspended feel” of the display stand perfectly matches the “lightness” of the mirror, preventing the mirror area from appearing bulky. Instead, it adds a touch of the relaxation of a “delicate little item”.

The rose gold rack of the wall cabinet and the metal hanging hooks of the crystal partition at the door are of the same color number. The crystal storage box on the operation counter and the long crystal strip of the partition have the same texture. Even the small ornaments placed in the display cabinet – such as that black jewelry rack – have a matte texture and fit perfectly with the black legs of the chair.
