Retro barber shop design
Pushing open the door and stepping into this nail salon, the first thing that catches the eye is the warm light spreading in the light-colored space – not overly dazzling bright white, but as if the afternoon sunlight has been crushed into the textures of the walls and floors. The entire store has a long and narrow layout, but through the zoning design, several functional areas such as “nail art operation”, “foot care”, “private care” and “waiting for reception” are clearly separated.
This not only avoids congestion but also makes the customer’s movement from the entrance to the service area natural and smooth. The walls are decorated with a combination of light gray and white, while the floor is paved with beige marble-patterned tiles. The texture of the tiles has a faint warm tone, which softens the atmosphere of the entire space.
Nail art operation area
The nail art operation area is the core area of the store. Two long white operation tables placed side by side occupy the main position of the space. The countertop is made of matte white artificial stone, which is the most suitable material for nail salons: it can withstand scratches from accidental spills of nail polish and can be wiped clean with a wet wipe after service without leaving any mottled marks.
Each operation counter is designed with a “storage” feature: the upper layer is a flat operation surface, just wide enough to accommodate a row of nail polish gel racks and small phototherapy lamps, and also leaves space for customers to place their mobile phones or bags. The lower layer is embedded with three light white drawers. The handles are of the same color as the countertop and are of an invisible style. When pulled open, they can be used to categorize and store small tools such as dead skin scissors, polishing strips, and nail files. When not in use, when the drawers are closed, the entire countertop maintains a clean and minimalist feel, preventing the tools from being messy and spoiling the visual experience.

Nail art chair
In the nail art chair area further inside, there are two white height-adjustable chairs. The arrangement of two mirrors facing the wall. The mirror is a narrow-edged black metal frame with a warm white light strip embedded inside the frame. When turned on, the light can evenly shine on the customer’s hand, preventing the color of the nail polish from being distorted due to the light deviation, and also allowing the manicurist to more clearly see the details of the nail edges.
This chair is a classic dual-purpose model for both hair and nail care. Its white soft-wrapped backrest can be slightly tilted backward. The silver metal disc base at the bottom is very stable. When adjusting the height, you just need to turn the small switch on the side, and there will be no sense of heaviness or lag.
The three-layer metal trolley beside the chair is an “invisible helper” : the white shelves can hold a row of commonly used nail polish, and the bottom layer can accommodate clean towels and disposable tool kits. The design with wheels enables manicurists to reach each workstation without having to run back and forth to pick up things. With just a gentle push, they can get there, saving time and keeping the space tidy.
Foot care area
On one side of the operation area, in the foot care area, the most eye-catching feature is two soft-padded chairs with light grey marble textures. The fabric of the chair body is fine short-pile material. It doesn’t have a rough grainy feel when touched and can just fit the curve of the waist when sat on. The right side of the chair is also equipped with small footrests made of the same fabric. When customers get their toenails done, they can naturally place their feet on them without deliberately curling up their legs.
This detail precisely solves the problem of “sore legs after sitting for a long time” that many nail salons encounter. The frame of the chair is made of white plastic, and the edges are treated with a smooth arc shape, which neither bumps the customer’s legs nor is in harmony with the light tones of the space.
Two decorative paintings are hung on the wall behind the chair. The core of the paintings is a close-up of the feet after foot care, with a golden border. This not only highlights the “foot care” service but also adds a touch of light luxury to the light-colored wall. There is also an abstract color painting beside it. The pink and yellow strokes spread out on the white background, which just neutralizes the “coldness” of the nail tools and adds a touch of soft atmosphere to the space.
Wash basin
The white washbasin beside the nursing bed is built-in, and the double-door cabinet under the countertop can be used to categorically store bath salts, scrubs and other nursing products. The white ceramic washbasin on the countertop has a very thin edge and won’t take up too much space. The faucet is a simple single-handle style. When you turn it on, a gentle water flow comes out. When customers wash their hands before and after care, they don’t have to struggle to turn complex switches. They can just raise their hands to adjust the water temperature.
The lighting in the entire store does not adopt a “full-ceiling bright” design. Instead, it is divided into layers: the ceiling of the operation area is equipped with embedded light troughs, and warm white light overflows from the light troughs. Coupled with several embedded small spotlights, it ensures that the manicurists have sufficient light during operation without making customers feel dazzling. The corridor and the nursing room are equipped with wall lamps and small downlights, providing softer light that perfectly matches the “relaxing” atmosphere.
